Sure, there’s lots of products out there for dogs…and many of them have healthy aspects to them. But we believe Iris Cookies are the best product out there. We have discussed the ingredients of our cookies with our own dogs’ veterinarians and based on those discussions and personal research we feel these cookies are the best for our dogs and we hope you’ll agree.

Alfalfa (organic) – anti-inflammatory, detoxifier, contains all the known vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, protein and is high in chlorophyll. This ingredient is good as an anti-inflammatory, for joint inflammation, helps reduce body and breath odor, bleeding gums and infections.

Bacon Bits – contains protein, calcium and iron.

Beef Liver – high in protein, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, vitamin C, B12, A, D and some E.

Beet Powder (organic) – naturally rich in iron, potassium, magnesium, soluble and insoluble fiber and may be beneficial for blood fat inhibiting, liver cell regeneration, sugar stabilizing, liver and spleen function.

Organic Blackstrap Molasses – loaded with iron, potassium, calcium, Vitamin B6 and Magnesium.

Brewer’s Yeast – powerful, healthy source of B vitamins, amino acids, proteins, and minerals. Brewer’s yeast may be helpful in reducing serum cholesterol and has immune enhancing properties.

Brown Rice – high in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Gluten free and contains potassium, protein, iron, thiamine and niacin.

Organic Carrots – betacarotene, potassium, calcium Vitamins A and C.

Cinnamon – Considering that cinnamon is probably one of the most aromatic of the spices, it is surprising the powers that it has. It has been used to treat nausea and flatulence, and used alone or in combination to treat diarrhea. The oil in cinnamon is a type of phenol which is anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, slowing meat to spoil, so its use as spice for meat dishes, especially in warmer climates is sensible.

Garlic Powder – reputed to repel fleas! Has antibiotic and immune boosting properties.

Ginger – has been found to be helpful in relieving migraines, menstrual cramps, severity of nausea, can lessen pain from rheumatoid arthritis, as treatment for respiratory infections, stimulating digestion and easing gas as well as being a mouth freshener!

Organic Sea Kelp – Vitamins A, C, D, E and B complex with B12! Helpful for thyroid problems, poor digestion, hair loss, ulcers, sensory nerves, spinal cord, and brain tissue.

Niacin – water-soluble vitamin necessary for many aspects of health, growth and reproduction – it’s part of the vitamin B complex and assists in the functioning of the digestive system, skin, and nerves.

Olive Oil – Good for the heart and circulation, a liver healer and bowel regulator.

Omega fats – dramatically reduces itching from pollen allergies and flea allergy dermatitis, essential fatty acids control itching in pets with dry skin.

Parsley – Super green food high in Vitamin A and C. Contains calcium, iron, iodine, phosphorus, and potassium. Parsley is high in antioxidant nutrients and is used therapeutically for swelling of the thyroid gland, obesity, fluid retention and indigestion. Can reduce accumulated plaque on arterial walls and prevent blood clots. Healthy for stomach, bladder, liver and kidneys.

Riboflavin – water-soluble viamin in the B complex group – important for body growth and red blood cell production and helps release energy from carbohydrates.

Skim milk powder – calcium for strong bones and teeth!

Wheat Germ – Excellent source of Vitamin E complex which is an essential component for antioxidant activity in membranes.

Whole Wheat Flour – Rich in protein, fiber, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, riboflavin, niacin, vitamins B6 and E.

Zinc – important in normal growth and development, the maintenance of body tissues, immune system and detoxification of chemicals and metabolic irritants. Carbohydrate metabolism is influenced by zinc and aids the body’s healing process, it may have an anti-inflammatory function, especially in the joints and artery linings, and assist in rheumatoid arthritis, preventing dental cavities by strengthening tooth enamel.
